Manufacturing and Finishing Line

Why should Nick's Finish your Doors?
Not only do we have a team of professionally trained wood finishers who apply our 20 step process by hand and top of the line CNC equipment to give a perfect result, but we also use ICA Coatings who are leaders of the industry.

Does your painter use Exterior Grade products?
Shopping local for stain and clear coatings, is nearly impossible to find a quality exterior product. Almost all stains are made for interior applications. If these are used they will fade immediately under the clear coat. If the wrong clear coat is chosen it will yellow, crack, or deteriorate. It is very important that you use a softer coating that has the ability to slightly stretch when wood expands and contracts while keeping its beauty.

Our Coatings
Imported from Italy we chose a crystal clear water based Urethane which has nano-technology along with both UV absorbers and blockers to assist in making the furniture grade finish remain perfect for years after the competitors. Our stains are made from fine micro ground minerals that are unable to be faded by UV rays unlike dyes and pigment stains. To top it off everything is Eco Friendly, low VOC, and safe for the environment to achieve ISO14001 certification.

Our In-house Multi-Step Finishing Process:

1. We carefully disassemble the door system. This helps to get behind the hinges, at all the nook & crannies, all 6 sides of the door (including the top and bottom).
2. We caulk and glaze all glass areas to help prevent any water intrusion.
3. We tape off all windows and threshold to protect from over-spray finish.
4. Wood filler is applied where needed to help attain smoothness.
5. If there are any imperfections in the wood itself, we remove them with a steaming process.
